"...with a purpose"

Posted by drlafontaine on May 31 2017 - 10:55am

Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the scouting movement, once described his program as fun with a purpose.  He very deliberately designed scouting to harness the natural spirit and energy of boys and aim it in a positive direction.  Today, the Boy Scouts of America continues the tradition in order to achieve three main aims: Citizenship training; Character Development; Mental and Physical Fitness.  As we in Troop 113 begin the process of planning next season, we are actually working toward the aim of Citizenship Training.
